MIKE
Owner
A Colorado Native, is the owner and operator at Surge Kickboxing and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning coach as well as a Level 1 Karate Coach through the United States Olympic Committee. He has his third-degree black belt in Shotokan Karate which has earned him the title Sensei, through the International Martial Arts Association. Mike has over 20 years of experience in martial arts, and over 8 years of being a certified kickboxing instructor. Mike brings a wealth of knowledge to help support each member on their fitness journey. He also holds current CPR and AED certifications. TAYLOR
Lead Trainer
A Colorado Native, is the lead trainer at Surge Kickboxing. She grew up dancing at the elite national level for over 15 years. She currently is working to earn a doctorate in physical therapy and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Colorado for Integrative Physiology and Psychology. She is a certified kickboxing instructor and Level 2 Boxing Trainer. She specializes in creating Surge Circuits that will test your strength and endurance through unique exercises catered just for you and is excited to continue her growth in her fitness and martial arts as part of the Surge Kickboxing family.
DARRYL
Certified Nutritionist
Darryl, an athlete his entire life, shifted his perception of fitness and nutrition upon moving to Colorado 8 years ago. In that time, he has become a Certified Transformational Nutrition Coach and is currently a Candidate to be Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition. He is also a Level 2 Certified Active Fascial Unwinding Therapist, and has 6 years of martial arts experience including Muay Thai, Krav Maga, Self-Defense and Reality Based Training.
Darryl believes Nutrition is multifaceted and that it consists of three different pillars; science, psychology and spirituality. He finds that too frequently, only one of the pillars is focused on, while the other two are neglected. This creates an imbalance and inhibits optimal, ongoing progress and everlasting results. Darryl helps with weight loss by focusing on our relationship with food, and he is here to help you achieve the transformation that you seek.
FAQ
DO I NEED TO HAVE KICKBOXING EXPERIENCE?
No you do not. When you come in for your first workout, one of our trainers will lead you through an introductory kickboxing training to be sure you understand the techniques we use in our workouts as well as perform them with proper form.
DO I NEED MY OWN BOXING GLOVES?
If you have your own boxing gloves you are more than welcome to bring them, but if not, no problem. We have demo pairs that you can use for your first time.
WHAT IF I AM NEW TO WORKING OUT?
Our workouts cater to all fitness levels and our trainers will always be able to modify exercises to your ability.
DO I NEED SHOES?
You do not need shoes during a workout at Surge Kickboxing, but if you would like to wear shoes while your workout, we ask that you wear a pair of clean indoor only athletic shoes.
WHAT IF I HAVE AN INJURY?
We understand injuries can be limiting, but our trainers are qualified to adapt and modify any exercises to meet your specific needs.
